Although we had gotten quite a number of seats covered by our lower secondary schoolmates, we still need to PUSH TICKET SALES.

And aim for a FULL HOUSE!

And this is our first concert with Mr. L. Tan...

So please work harder when we come back for practice once again.

its the study break.
So how's the first monday without band?
to those super enthusiastic people towards band, please focus solely on your tests for these few weeks. After that, we'll all come back together to once more make music together.
But do also note, our malacca trip is drawing near, please be prepared with your pieces.

Advice from the bus guide(?)

Okay... tho dis is kinda late, im just gonna post it anyway...
Im posting the buses that get there and where you can get them.
Most of you peeps will be taking 156 from bishan.
but for the benefit of maybe some others...

How to get to CJC

Guys...to ensure no difficulty is encountered, I have a few DETAILED maps with courtesy of the Singapore Land Authority. Look at the maps closely, print them if neccessary. The are helpful.

IJ TP concert

All those who want to take 156 from Junction 8 to CJC for the concert please BEWARE!!! the bus takes 4ever 2 come so the safest is to wait earlier at the bus stop cuz sometimes it takes THIRTY MINUTES for the 156 bus to come =D trust me i always take tat bus home and it takes FOREVER to come.

okay guys heres the thing.
for the CHIJ toa payoh's concert, only our Sec 1s will enjoy a free bus ride from school to CJC.

thus, Sec 1s please meet daniel on the 18th of April (Fri) outside the band room by 6pm.
the bus will only take you there, you guys ahve to make your own way back after that.

As for the main band, you have to make your own way there.
You can take bus 156 at J8 directly to Catholic Junior College, just go check out which bus stop.
We'll gather outside CJC, and make our way there.

Gathering time: 6.45pm
What NOT to wear: singlets, sleeveless shirts, and anything inappropriate.

alrighty then, please spread the word around to all your members, including sec 1s.
we do not wish to see any miscommunications then. inform everyone, better safe than sorry.

and those who owes me ticket money please pay up.

Huzzah!!! If u keep real close watch, u'll notice that this is the 100th post for the band blog, and im typing it!!! yay!Anywayz, study hard for the exams, do ur best for thursdays practice , score for exams( i know i will, been mugging my ass off) then enjoy the malacca trip. Also note that Gerald Tey and Terence Lee share their bdae on 5th May. With that i bring ur attention to the band consent form for the trip, note the first day 1900 noted as : Night Activities??

Our Sec1s...Our future...Our Hope..

Greetings to all.

I shall put my message across to you guys as simple and straightforward as possible.

Sec 1s HAVE joined us, in case some of you haven't noticed. Whether you like it or not, they are a part of us now. So all the seniors out there, please do not deny or even shirk the responsibility of guiding your juniors.

DO not push this responsibility to the secondary ones' tutor. He is just helping us train the technicality of our sec 1s and nothing more than that. Ultimately, its how we teach our juniors that leaves a certain impact on them THROUGHOUT their band life.

So, from now on, if you have the time and opportunity to interract with your juniors, SEIZE it and use it wisely. Teach them well; guide them through the what seems to them like the unknown; and set a good example for them.

Eventually, they will look up to you.

AND do not despise them. Some common refrains of our members were "Wah Lau...XXX so lan, cant even play..." and "How to teach them...". Whoever you are, stop this lousy attitude. Stop this nonsense. Stop having this stuck-up mindset. Have you not forgotten that you were once as "lousy"? Have you forgotten that it was the patient guidance of your seniors that made you what you are today--a good player? Have you forgotten that when you just started, you longed for your seniors to give you time to learn your own instrument?

HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN THAT YOU WERE ONCE A SECONDARY ONE?

So stop having that mindset. Teach your juniors well. True that they maybe our hope and our future, but without our patience and guidiance, they WOULD not be able to master their instrument fully. Eventually, this would have an adverse effect on our band.

Time is of essence people. Next year would be our SYF. And i am sure no one would want to screw it up this time. And let's face the facts. After the sec 4s leave, we would need to include some of our sec 1s in our main band for SYF.

Mr Tan once said "The strength of a Band, is the strength of its weakest players." Currently, our weakest players are our sec 1s. I don't expect to suddenly see a spike in improvement in them. I just wish for OUR current members to give support to our sec 1s.

Stop gving them pressure. Stop treating them as though they are worthless. Start to give them your support. Start to interract with them. Start to show them that you care. Start to guide them with patience.

That is all I have to say.

IMPORTANT TO ALL SEC 3s and 4s

HI all. Please be informed that the whole band is required to go to the school's musical: Unarmed Combat on the 9 May, Friday,7.30pm. Tickets have been bought for Sec 3s and 4s. Please pass to me the money: $15 to me by next Tuesday. Please do so asap, so that the tickets can come fast. Sec 1s and 2s have to also go to the musical; but the school has bought tickets for the whole level of Sec 1s and 2s. Hence, they need not buy.

So, $15...Please bring it and pass to me asap. Thanks
